As visitors stroll along the sun-kissed boardwalk, Lamplight Lounge at Pixar Pier is immersed in nostalgia and seaside charm, and when creating this structure it must capture that same energy enabling it to withstanding its coastal climate and earthquake-prone location.

Tekla Structures
Our designer(s)? engineer(s)? leaned into that imagination when designing the metal framework of Lamplight Lounge by using the most advanced and efficient BIM available, Tekla Structures. This enabled them to collaborate with other project contractors in real time and provided up-to-the minute changes and product lists.
During the construction process we watched the steel take shape and precisely align with the Tekla drawings down the the last bolt. We take pride in watching the design process unfold around the structures we create. Custom-fabricated elements can mirror the waves of the Pacific or the loops of a roller coaster, turning the metal itself into a tribute to the energy of the pier.
When the project is finished, we are afforded the pleasure of watching visitors to Disney’s California Adventure enjoy spaces that wouldn’t have been possible without our designs. These structures will last lifetimes, and do to our complex computer system, will be safe and sound for generations to come.
